All information and pictures on the website are instruments or accessories owned or previously owned by Duchy Brass and I have not given permission for these to be used on other websites.

Ordering

To purchase a brass instrument listed on the website please contact me by either email or telephone to confirm availability. Once confirmed I will require your name, address, delivery address (if different), a contact telephone number at the delivery address and preferred payment method. I will then email an invoice for payment.

Payment methods

Payment can be accepted via Credit/Debit Cards (Visa, Maestro & MasterCard), Bank Transfer, Cheque (subject to clearance) or Paypal which allows credit/debit card payment (subject to a surcharge of 3%-5% to cover their fees).

Delivery

Instruments to be delivered within the UK mainland are sent free of charge. Instruments to be delivered outside of the UK mainland are charged at cost which will be calculated at the point of sale, please contact me if you require an accurate delivery quote. Items are sent the day after cleared payment has been received. Once sent you will be provided with the courier details and tracking information. All instruments are sent via insured and tracked services.

Receipt of instrument

I take great care to ensure that instruments are sent in good condition and appropriately packed. However, damage can sometimes occur in transit. On receipt please check your goods immediately. If the instrument cannot be checked straight away please write ‘unchecked’ on the couriers delivery document/handheld scanner. Any faults or damage must be reported to Duchy Brass within 24 hours of delivery or claims will not be entertained.

Cancellation of order

For sales within the UK you are entitled to cancel the order you have placed, this entitlement may exercised up to 7 days, starting from the day after the instrument was received. If you cancel an order after the instrument has been delivered you must send it back at your own cost. The instrument must still be in the condition it was sent.

Warranty

New Geneva instruments are covered by their lifetime warranty and new JP instruments are covered by a two year warranty details of which can be provided on request.

Used, ex-demo and refurbished instruments come with a six month warranty against any mechanical defects and should a fault occur at my discretion the instrument can be returned to me for repair or taken to a repairer of your choice with the cost being reimbursed.  This warranty does not cover cosmetic issues with silver/gold plating or lacquer finishes nor damage caused by accident or misuse.

Returns

If you wish to return your instrument I try to make the process as simple and easy as possible whilst safeguarding the service I provide. Therefore please follow the terms below:

  • You must notify me of your intention to return the instrument within 7 days of receipt (not the invoice date)..
  • The original packaging must be retained and you should ensure that the instrument is returned to me packaged to the same standard as it were originally delivered.
  • Any courier service used to return the instrument should be tracked and fully insured. Duchy Brass will not be responsible for any instruments lost or damaged in transit whilst being returned and will reserve the right to return it to you or reduce the value of any refund to cover the cost of damage and subsequent repair.
  • Whilst I appreciate that you will want to inspect/try the instrument it must be returned to me in the condition which it was sent. Duchy Brass reserves the right to charge a re-stocking fee should any instrument be returned with any damage, cosmetic or otherwise, this will be deducted from your refund. In cases of extreme damage your return may be refused as above.
  • Please note that any instrument returned from outside of the UK mainland will have the original delivery costs deducted from any refund paid.
  • Any instruments taken in part-exchange will be returned at your cost if they are still in my possession, if not the agreed part- exchange valuation will be paid.
